pInstruments PBone Black Plastic 6.5 Small Shank Trombone Mouthpiece (PBMPC65SB)
The pInstruments PBone Black Plastic 6.5 Small Shank Trombone Mouthpiece (PBMPC65SB) has garnered a mixed yet mostly positive reception from customers. Many users appreciate the mouthpiece for its comfort and sound quality, particularly when compared to traditional metal mouthpieces. One user highlighted that it fits perfectly on their bass trombone, noting that the sound produced is comparable to their regular Bach 1.5G mouthpiece, making it a cost-effective alternative. For musicians experiencing issues such as lip fatigue or allergies to traditional materials, this plastic mouthpiece has proven to be a valuable alternative. Customers have reported that it provides a comfortable playing experience, allowing for extended session times without the discomfort often associated with metal mouthpieces. Additionally, its performance in cold weather conditions has been well-received, as it remains functional and retains a decent sound quality even in extreme temperatures. However, there are some complaints regarding sizing issues, with one customer mentioning that the mouthpiece did not fit their small bore tenor trombone, leading to air leaks and an inability to produce sound. Another buyer found the mouthpiece to be chipped upon arrival, which, although not affecting playability, suggests variances in quality control. Overall, the pInstruments PBone mouthpiece is a solid choice for brass players seeking an affordable, comfortable, and versatile mouthpiece, especially for outdoor performances or for those with specific material sensitivities. **
