Nutritionist's Take
The Progressive Labs DGL Complex Supplement is formulated primarily with deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL), which is believed to support digestive health by soothing the gastric mucosa and promoting the healing of stomach lining. Nutritionists generally consider DGL to be beneficial for conditions such as gastritis and peptic ulcers, as it avoids the potential hypertensive effects of glycyrrhizin found in regular licorice. However, consumers should remain cautious about the reliance on supplements for digestive health and ensure a balanced diet rich in fiber and antioxidants. One potential drawback could be the lack of further added digestive enzymes or probiotics that would enhance gut health holistically. Additionally, individuals with allergies to licorice or those on certain medications should consult a healthcare provider before use. Overall, while it can be a helpful adjunct for digestive support, it is important to approach supplementation thoughtfully.
