AmplifiedParts Parts T-SSR01 Editorial Review
The Solid State Rectifier for 5AR4, 5U4, and 5Y3 tubes has garnered a generally positive reception among users. Customers report that the rectifier functions as intended, replicating the performance of traditional tube rectifiers effectively. One user particularly praised its long-term reliability, noting it has been in use for years without issue in their Frenzel amp. This positive feedback contrasts with an isolated negative review, where the user experienced compatibility problems, suggesting the rectifier may not perform successfully if not used in the right application. However, some users pointed out practical challenges, such as the thick pins which can make the rectifier difficult to remove after installation. While this hasn’t deterred most users from appreciating its functionality, it’s worth noting for potential buyers Considering ease of removal upon installation or experimentation. Overall, the Solid State Rectifier stands out as a reliable choice for those looking to replace vacuum tubes with a solid state option, combining longevity and performance, despite minor drawbacks in physical design. **
