Neoliberalizm kıskacında, iyisiyle kötüsüyle yaşadığı her şeyin tek sorumlusu ilan edilen birey, mükemmeliyetçilik beklentisi ile yetersizlik hisleri arasında sıkışmış durumda. “Her koyun kendi bacağından asılır” şiarıyla girdiği yarışta bir yandan kendini pazarlarken diğer yandan başkalarının celladına dönüşüyor. Ne var ki içini kemiren o “yeri doldurulabilir olma” hissinden kurtulamıyor. Renata Salecl acımasızlığı huy edinmiş, kabalığın meziyet sayıldığı günümüz dünyasını masaya yatırıyor; önündeki dev aynasından ötesini göremez, “ben” demeden iki kelam edemez hale gelmiş, ölçüsüz hırsları, sabırsızlığı, kibri gurur nişanesi gibi taşıyan insanın düştüğü açmazları gözler önüne seriyor. YAZAR HAKKINDA: Slovenyalı düşünür ve sosyolog 1962 doğumlu. Ljubljana Üniversitesi’nde felsefe öğrenimi gördükten sonra aynı üniversitenin hukuk fakültesinin kriminoloji bölümünde araştırma görevlisi olarak çalışmaya başladı ve 1991’de sosyoloji doktorasını tamamladı. Çalışmalarında hukuk, kriminoloji ve psikanalizi bir araya getiren Salecl, 2010’da Slovenya Bilim Bakanlığı tarafından yılın kadın bilimcisi seçildi. Londra İktisat Okulu, Birkbeck Üniversitesi, New York’taki Cardozo Hukuk Okulu, Washington’daki George Washington Üniversitesi ve Berlin’deki Humboldt Üniversitesi gibi eğitim kurumlarında dersler veren Salecl, halen Ljubljana Üniversitesi’nde öğretim üyesi ve kıdemli araştırmacı olarak çalışmalarını sürdürüyor. Aynı zamanda çeşitli Avrupa gazetelerinde köşe yazıları da yazan Salecl’in kitaplarından bazıları şunlardır: Kaygı Üzerine (Metis, 2013), Seçme İkilemi (Metis, 2014), The Spoils of Freedom: Psychoanalysis and Feminism after the Fall of Socialism (1994), (Per)versions of Love and Hate (1998).
