  • Homer's immortal work, Odyssey, is the second greatest epic of Ancient Greek literature after the Iliad. Just like the Iliad, we are happy to bring this unique 2700-year-old epic, which has always attracted attention and inspiration since its emergence, back into Turkish with a contemporary translation. In this work, which was brought to our language from its translation from ancient Hellenic to contemporary Greek, the mastery of Homer's narration was not compromised. The oldest known record of the Odyssey was made in Athens by the order of Peisistratos in the 6th century BC. The epic is divided into 24 parts called rhapsodies and is told in 12,000 lines. Odyssey, which tells the adventurous story of Odysseus, the hero of the Trojan War and King of Ithaca, returning to his homeland and killing suitors who wanted to marry his wife Penelopeia, begins with Odysseus' captivity on the island of Ogygie. The literary value of the Odyssey is unquestionably accepted by the whole world. It is also an important source of cultural and geographical information.
