Atlas Train Tracks 540 Editorial Review

**** The ATLAS MODEL 540 Code 83 Remote Left-Hand HO has garnered mixed reviews from customers, highlighting both its reasonable pricing and functionality. Many users appreciate that the product operates as expected, with some noting its reliable performance and good value for money. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding the design and functionality of the switching mechanism. Specifically, customers have reported that trains tend to derail easily due to gaps between the switch rails and the fixed rail. This issue can be especially problematic for model train enthusiasts who rely on the precision of track alignment to ensure smooth operation. Some users have attempted to mitigate this problem by bending the rail tips, but this compromises the locking mechanism of the switch, ultimately leading to further derailments. Overall, while the ATLAS MODEL 540 offers an affordable option for hobbyists, its effectiveness may be limited by its design flaws. Prospective buyers should weigh the benefits against potential operational issues. **
